Thank you, both for the comment and the favourite
Welcome to deviantart, I hope you'll have a nice stay here, DA can be a really cool place to hang out. Although you can't expect to get to know most of the users like on other boards/sites/forums, I'm sure that if you stick around long enoguh you'll make lots of friends, I see that you've already been here for a couple of months, but since I'm only the third person to give a comment on your user page I think I'm still allowed to welcome you
A few hints, if you're looking for pageviews (it's always nice to get comments on your hard work) start making lots of comments. But make sure you try to keep them useful, ie:"nice, but a little contrasttweak could make it a lot better" try to be helpful, lots of people rather have a negative sounding comment which helps them in the future than having a comment like nice. Also, this is what I try to do, do not become a favouritewhore, I see lots of people with 20000 pageviews, then you look at their given favourites and they have a figure like 9000 or something like that. I hate that. A favourite is supposed to be something special, a reward. At least that's how I see it. Also always give a comment when you give away a favourite. Shoutbox can be fun too, because you get a better chance at getting to know interesting people than you do at the forums. Which I don't like very much because they're way too active. A discussion is impossible because when you're trying to reply 10 users already have. Futhermore try to do your best for DA, that way you get all the things like usefull comments and nice replies. It's a shame deviantart has so many users who definitly do not care about the quality of their work. When I look at the main page it's just struggling through all the crap looking for something nice. Try to make a difference. Well I guess that's about all I've got to say for now
Good luck, and enjoy your stay
I'm sure it'll turn out fine, I've been here since december 2003 and still enjoying it here, because it motivates me to go on making art. And I can clearly see the progress I make, which is fun
Once again, good luck, bye
